A convenient summary of my life...

Early Life

Growing up, you could say that I had a fairly interesting childhood.  I was born in Indiana in the suburbs of Chicago.  About 80% of my family lives near Chicago, so family gatherings were quite frequent!  Around 1998, the family decided to relocated to a small east Texas town called Longview.  We didn't stay too long and were back to Indiana within a year or two.  About 7 years later, we moved to Ohio.  We were back to Indiana within a year.  Then in 2008, news came that we were moving to Huntsville, Alabama.  I thought my life was crashing by moving to Alabama, but it ended up being pretty great place!  The family stil lives by Huntsville and I would have never thought of going to Auburn University if it wasn't for that move!

Involvement at Auburn

When I got to Auburn, I joined the Student Space Program (AUSSP).  While it doesn't really pertain to my career interests, aerospace has always been a hobby of mine.  Before I knew it, I had become the Project Manager by my second year and still occupy the role!  I've seen the program through its ups and downs, and with the NSF grant we just received, we are definitely at an up!

Past Experiences

Moving to the Hunstville area opened the door to a wide range of career possibilites, so long as you wanted to be an engineer!

While in high school, I had the opportunity to work for Boeing and Craft Designs.  Both jobs were meant to show me different disciplines of engineering, and I ultimately chose to go into Electrical Power engineering.

While at Auburn, I co-oped with Goodwyn, Mills, & Cawood for three rotations.  While there, I primarily focused on arc flash calculations and electrical layouts for municipal and industrial sites.

Life Goals

After graduation, my career goal is to end up in the nuclear power industry.  I believe that nuclear power is the cleanest, safest, and most cost-effective form of baseload power available right now.

I also hope to start a family one day and to be able to give my kids the opportunities that I had growing up!
